It’s Miami in the Roaring 50’s and dogs are running around the streets of South Beach, Miami with far less oversight than they are by today’s standards.
JIM BUCK, THE 1ST DOG WALKER IN THE US
Fast forward to 1962. Jim Buck, widely recognized as the first dog walker in the USA. Mr. Buck is one impressive guy, often seen shepherding 15+ dogs through the streets of New York, making pack walks the norm. And let's face it, he looks great doing it! Today, we tip our hats to this legend who took his passion for dogs and found a way to live that love every day. He changed the way dogs got walked, and many other dog lovers followed in his foot steps.

In 2018, friends Daniel and Steve set out to offer a more individualized service in Miami Beach. Their vision: Treat each pet with the same care and attention they get from their owners. Armed with nothing but a couple of leashes, the guys create SoBe Pooch and get to work. They take the time to learn each and every dog and cat’s personality. They believe that each animal is an individual with different personalities and different needs and tailor their services to best suit their needs. Pets are happier and people take notice. SoBe Pooch continues grow with support from the community, the team they build, and the work they put into finding and properly training their Pet Service Providers.

In 2019, SoBe Pooch partnered with Smart Training to bring on Kadu, a certified dog trainer and behavior consultant. Together, we overhauled our entire training program for new Pet Service Providers, focusing on health, wellness, breed-specific habits, and safety. Positive reinforcement training techniques are at the core of all our services. We speak Pooch!
