Frequently Asked Questions

What time will my dog be walked?

We use a one hour pick-up window

Due to the complexity of our Pet Parent’s varying schedules and the unique challenges of maneuvering through South Beach's heavy traffic and climate, we reserve a one-hour window around the time of your scheduled service.   For example, if your pup is scheduled for a 3PM walk, you can expect your walker will arrive sometime between 3PM and 4PM. But we try our best to be there at your requested time.

How do I Pay?

Automatically, through your SoBe Pooch client portal

We accept all major credit cards, and payments are fully automated through your SoBe Pooch client portal. Your card will be automatically charged each week for the previous week of services.   We typically process invoices on Fridays. For one-time services, your card will be charged right away. Checks are also accepted. Managing and keeping track of every detail is easy in your online portal/app.

Do I need a regular schedule?

Regular vs Occasional

Establishing a regular schedule for your pet is recommended. This helps us allocate our pet service providers, and ensures everyone gets their appointment completed within their desired time frames.   That being said, we are happy to accommodate clients with occasional pet service needs based on availability. We recommend setting up a SoBe Pooch client account so you can easily request Pet Services anytime you need.

What's your cancellation policy?

2 hours

If you need to cancel a walk or service, please let us know at least two hours before. This gives us enough time to make the provider aware of the cancellation.   If you have to cancel last minute, please do so before the Service Provider arrives at your location. Cancellations received after the Service Provider has arrived at your location will be charged the full price of the service booked.

Do you walk dogs individually or in a group?

Individual VS Group Walks

Most of our walks are individual.   We’re more than happy to walk pups with a Companion or two as long as the they are of similar size, temperament and with permission from all Pet Parents.

Can you accommodate last minute requests?

We sure can

We know that sometimes you are in a pinch and need help caring for your furry family member, and we’ll always do the best we can to accomodate.   Should you have a last minute request, please try and let us know before our office closes so we can do our best to make it happen.   If your schedule changes from week to week, submit your requests via the portal (or via text) so we can plan and make sure your pup is covered. The more notice you can give, the better.   Our office is open M-F 5am-8pm. if you catch us outside of these hours, someone will still respond to your request asap.

How do I know if my appointment request cancellation was received?

We confirm every request/change/cancellation via text message

Every request, cancellation or schedule change is confirmed via text message and through our portal/app. If you send a request outside our regular business hours, we will confirm first thing the next business day. Cancellations, requests, and changes, are not confirmed unless you receive a confirmation from our office.

Are your Pet Service Providers Insured / Bonded?

Absolutely!

We work with the most highly regarded insurance companies in our industry. Every person in our staff is fully insured and bonded!

How do you hire and train your Service Providers?

It's the most important thing that we do

Finding truly amazing and special animal person is no easy task. It’s pretty much the most important thing we do besides take great care of our pets. In fact, only a very small percentage of our applicants even make it to the first in-person interview.   Why, you ask? Because we only work with candidates who are shining stars when it comes to understanding pets.   Applicants are chosen based on professional and personal experience. They take part in a couple of in-person interviews and tests to ensure they have a proper background and understanding of pets, mainly cats and dogs.   Once we find a candidate, we send them out with our Service Provider trainer, to see if they really have what it takes. The best of the best are then trained using our signature training curriculum focused on positive reinforcement, safety, breed specific traits, gear, and problem solving. Training takes place over several days and new service providers are transitioned into their new role equipped to handle anything.

What's the best way to get in touch?

Email/Call/Text/App Chat

Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 5AM – 8PM. During that time feel free to call our office directly, email us, or message us through the portal and someone will reply to you ASAP (usually within a few minutes).   If you submit a request over the weekend or during off hours someone from our office will reply as soon as we get back in. For emergencies, please call or text 786.241.9333 and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Do you offer puppy visits?

Sure do!

We know that when young puppies first come home it’s a transition process to begin walking outside (whether it be pre-vaccinations, the scary bustle of the traffic, or a combination of both). Your service provider will come to your home for 30 or 60 minutes to play and focus on socialization, practice puppy basics, offer tons of positive reinforcement and love, and clean up/replace pee pads. Of course each visit is followed with a Service Report and tons of pictures and videos of your little one.

Will I work with the same Pet Service Provider?

Not Really

You will be assigned a primary and a secondary Pet Service Provider in the event that the primary Service Privider is unable to complete an appointment then the secondary will cover for them. Each of our service providers have an assigned geographical neighborhood which consists of a specific set of pets that they visit each day. The pets (and their parents) really do become like family, and we do our best to encourage longevity and limited turnover amongst our staff.   Should your service provider resign or move to another schedule for any reason, we will notify you as far in advance as possible.

What if my Pet Service Provider gets sick or goes on holiday?

We've got you covered

Things happen, and if your primary Service Provider is unavailable for whatever reason (sick, vacation, emergency at home) we will ALWAYS have you covered.   Our goal is to give you as much notice as we can about coverage (generally at least two days) but sometimes when the primary AND secondary service providers get sick, we may notify you the morning of, that a substitute will be filling in.   If you prefer to cancel on days that you have a sub, that’s completely fine. Otherwise rest assured knowing that our alternate team consists solely of professionals who are used to adapting to all kinds of situations and meeting all sorts of different pets. They will be fully prepped on your pet’s individual personality and routine and come ready to give them an awesomely customized service.

Do you administer medication?

Of course!

Even pets get sick sometimes! We’re more than happy to administer pills, topical medication, and really anything that doesn’t require a veterinary technician certification. Keep us in the loop and we’ll help however we can.

Can you feed my pet?

Sure thing!

Not a problem. Please include all specific feeding instructions to us on your pet’s profile when you(or us)created your account so we can make sure your pet service provider is notified.

How does the service provider access my home?

Keys Vs Desk Access

You can either make a spare set of keys for your service provider to keep on them, or if you have a doorman/front desk you are welcome to leave your key for us to sign out. We ask that you make sure your front desk has both “SOBE POOCH” and your specific service provider’s name on file.   Don’t worry, if your pet service provider is ever out sick or on vacation we will take care of the key handoff or notify you with plenty of time to alert your front desk.

Do you offer pet sitting?

Absolutely.

We know that you and your pet are inseparable, but what about those days when you just can’t take your furry friend with you? Pet Sitting is $125 day/night for up to 12 hours or $25 an hour up to 5 hours, and includes care at your home or hotel at your desired start time for your convenience. This service includes potty breaks, feedings, medications, overnight care, and more love and playtime than you can imagine!

Do you offer boarding?

It depends

We offer At-Home Boarding, which means that your dog stays with us at one of our professional dog sitter’s home. This way your dog gets the one -on-one care they deserve. Boarding facilities usually have many dogs at any given time which causes lots of barking and crying and in return causes your dog to stress out or have a negative experience because they simply don’t understand what is happening. At home boarding provides your dog their own private pet sitter which is there for them 24/7 for anything they need. Our sitters are professionals dedicated and committed to their job. The client is always updated via our app with pictures, videos and chat notifications during the boarding to give you peace of mind while you’re away. .
